Have your violets been lacking in blossoms lately? Try out this natural remedy, and you’ll witness an abundance of blooms.

Even if you’re not blessed with a green thumb, whether your violets are potted or planted in the ground, they can still flourish with a profusion of flowers.
Understanding Violets
Violets are perennial flowering plants capable of thriving in both pots and garden beds. They boast a high decorative value and are relatively low-maintenance, resilient enough to withstand even harsh temperatures. However, getting them to bloom abundantly might pose a challenge.
To address this issue, we’re sharing a clever trick that guarantees impressive blooms for your violet plant.

Encouraging Flourishing
The secret ingredient you’ll need is a common kitchen item used in various cuisines – eggs. After using eggs in your culinary endeavors, don’t discard the shells just yet. To make your violets flourish, you’ll require eggshells.
Start by avoiding the disposal of eggshells. Rinse them under running water and let them dry in the sun if possible. Alternatively, place them on a baking tray and bake them in the oven for fifteen minutes at 150 degrees. Once the eggshells are dry, crumble them using your hands or the back of a spoon. The process should be coarse, as the eggshells will later be processed in a blender.
The resulting shell powder becomes a highly beneficial compound for your violets, thanks to its rich calcium content, crucial for plant development.
Before applying it to your violets, some maintenance is necessary. Trim away all dried flowers and leaves, which often occurs after the plant has bloomed. This step is vital for violets to bloom again. If dried flowers and leaves linger on the plant for too long, they might hinder the growth of new shoots. The same applies to dry leaves – keep them small and new to encourage faster sprouting.
Before introducing the eggshells into the soil, disturb it slightly. This can be achieved with a spatula or, for smaller pots, kitchen scissors. It’s worth noting that pots should be changed regularly.
Using a spoon, sprinkle the previously obtained eggshell powder over the soil, covering the area near the plant’s roots. Loosen the soil to ensure the powder reaches the depths.
The final step is to water the plant. Repeat this process every evening to fulfill the plant’s calcium requirements. After a few weeks, watch your violet bloom like never before.
