The Pit-Splitting Trick for Fast Cherry Tree Growth
Cherries are a delicious yet pricey fruit, so why not grow your own and save money while enjoying homegrown produce? All you need is one cherry pit and a few simple steps to get started. In as little as 20 days, you’ll see your cherry sapling take shape.
Step 1: Prepare the Pit
Start by cleaning the cherry pit thoroughly, removing all the pulp. Soak the pit in a glass of hydrogen peroxide for about ten minutes. This helps to disinfect and prepare the pit for planting. After soaking, rinse it well under tap water and let it dry. Now, it’s ready to plant. Without further steps, it will typically sprout within 5 to 6 months.

To ensure your tree thrives through the winter, protect it with non-woven fabric to shield it from cold temperatures and heavy rain. Fertilize every 3 months to nourish the tree, and prune it once a year to manage the branches, ensuring the plant stays strong and healthy.
By next spring, your hard work will be rewarded with beautiful blossoms and, soon after, a fresh cherry harvest.
